Do you know the common methods of slate maintenance?

- Mar 19, 2018-

Slate floor maintenance should be the same as any other floor to adhere to its cleaning, if necessary to scrub, punctuality and towing the floor.

Scrub the cracked floor to use heavy floor cleaners. Sprinkle the cleaners on the floor for a few minutes. Then, use a new solution and a hard brush to scour. Abrasives are not suitable for use, because they sometimes remain on the floor.

After the slate is thoroughly cleaned, the slate should be washed and completely dried, which is beneficial to the protection. "Protection" does not mean slate need protection, but can easily clean after sealing.

Seal up

In general, the supplier should be sealed in the standard "natural crack" process. The slate seal is best used for low viscosity, less than 25% of the sealant in the solid. Care must be taken before the seal is sealed to ensure that the slate and the grouting joints are completely dry and kept clean. Dampness in the seam will cause the sealant to turn white. Most of the sealants are permanent and difficult to remove. It should be tested in a small range first to ensure that this is the desired effect, and to finish the seal at the end.

"Traffic map"

The use of frequent areas will eventually form a "traffic map". It seems that the slate is being worn, but it is usually a problem of luster. The seal is relatively permanent and a glossy record, and the manufacturer should distinguish a number of sealants from others.

Stone is a natural product. Simple care and maintenance can help to maintain its beautiful appearance. A lot of food and beverage containing acid will corrode or make the stone surface dim, to clean up the spill in time.

The indoor floor needs to be regularly dusting, and a clean dry dust mop is to be used. Sand, soil, and gravel have the greatest damage to the surface of natural stone, because they have abrasiveness. Placing pads indoors and outside helps to reduce sand, soil, and gravel to scrape the stone floor. Make sure the bottom of the cushion is slippery. In general, a person has to walk eight steps on the floor to remove the sand and dirt from the sole.  Do not use the vacuum cleaner, they cause wear. Metal or plastic accessories or wheels will scratch the surface.

A few drops of neutral detergent or mild detergent and warm water can be used on a clean floor. The use of clean mop and soft cloth is beneficial to the protection of the floor. Too many detergent or soap will remain on the floor. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning with soap solution and dry with a soft cloth. Rinse water should be replaced regularly. Do not use scrubbing powder or such as frost. These products contain grinding ingredients to scratch the surface.

In bathrooms or other wet areas, cleaning with soap solutions can reduce soap scum after each use, with rubber broom cleaning. To remove the soap scum, can use non acidic soap scum scavenger or ammonia solution (1 gallons of water about half a cup of ammonia)
